Quest v Sp111

This is "my" understanding of it :

1. Newer
2. Smaller screen, better resolution
3. Builting in Nicad Battery
4. Built in memory 243mb
5. Faster processor
6. Smaller Overall Unit size

As for specific functions it looks to me like the Quest is a replacement to the SP111. But mainly being more personally portable.. ie small enough to fit into the pocket.

I liked it alot, but decided on a 2610 due to the larger screen and no absalute reason for a battery.

miles better!!!!! :P :D

Seriously, I can't believe how good it is.

*The screen refresh rate is much quicker.
*It's easier to take in info from the display as the colours are easier for me to deal with.
*The internal batteries last way longer & recharge from whatever external powersupply you connect to, like a mobile phone does.
*Off route recalculation takes seconds & it displays its progress in % terms whilst it's doing it.
*It's pocket sized - some can't deal with the smaller screen size, but I find that the improved resolution compensates for this.
*PC World had them for £389.99 but a Google search will find you a discount voucher for £25. Input the code as a promotion code at the checkout.

HTH,

PS: I really like the recharging bit when I put it into the car mount & the fact that it has internal batteries, unlike the 26**.

Can anyone tell me how the Quest compares to the streetpilot 111.

Basically its a lot better and cheaper. You would have to be a bit of a tosser to buy an SPIII instead of the quest.

The SPIII is a great GPS before anyone gets upset with me but its past its sell by date...

My personal take is that the Quest is the direct replacement of the GPS V, and the indirect replacement of the SP III.

The SP 26xx series accomplishes much the same tasks as the Quest, but with a larger screen, larger memory capacity, and additional features such as a touchscreen and a remote.

European purchasers are very lucky, because we really do have a choice between a Quest with sufficient memory (243 megs built-in) and a SP 26xx. North American users can only purchase a Quest with about 115 megs of memory, which makes it pretty marginal for motorcycle touring.
