Ok I’m away in the south of France, before I left I updated my Nav Vl with latest maps and updates.
I noticed very quickly that the device is not alerting me to any safety cameras.

The whole way down through France it hasn’t alerted once.

I have de-selected and re-selected the Garmin safety cameras hoping to re activate it but it’s not working.

Anyone else experiencing the same???

Speed camera alerts are specifically not included in France.

What you might see flashed up is warnings about ‘High risk area’ or some such.

Garmin safety camera alerts are banned in France. You will probably get a dangerous road segment warning instead. Both my Garmin devices show this.

First time it’s happened, was here in April and safety cameras/dangerous areas were working fine.

Yes Wapping & glenn2926 dangerous areas but no longer working

Ok so just updating this thread,
I crossed the border into Spain today and noticed very quickly that the safety cameras were working in Spain.
This means that it’s not my device, Garmin must have bowed to pressure from the French government to stop showing where speed cameras are while driving in France.
If you want to keep safety cameras for France don’t update your GPS (y)

My Garmin sat nav was showing dangerous road segments in France last week. In fact it was also showing the speed limit for the dangerous road segment.

Just back from 5 days in France and Belgium. Mine works as it's always done.

Tomtom app works still.
If Garmin and Tomtom do not continue to display important information, then people will move to other platforms. Many in France use Waze.
Authorities should be pleased that folks slow down in areas where they want to reduce speed…unless there are other reasons for the cameras….

I turned off the 'safety camera' alert years ago, ignorance is bliss. 👍

Hi Siddo, same question as Glenn when did you last update your GPS?
I updated mine probably around 12 - 15th May
If you haven’t updated it recently the safety cameras will still work.
Well that’s my assumption. I could be wrong

I can't recall exactly but it was before I went away. I checked for updates last week and there weren't any.

There is nothing that I can see on the internet, about Garmin removing the ‘High Risk Zone’ warnings in France.

Thanks for looking Wapping yeah I have also looked on Garmin website maybe it’s my Nav 6?
It was working fine in April when I went to Vannes.

I’ve just tried de selecting the camera option and switching off the unit then powering on then re selecting and restarting but doubt this will fix it.
I am more thinking it’s the Nav 6 because I brought a Nav V unit with me as a backup. I also updated the maps and software at the time as the Nav 6. Just tried it this morning and speed cameras are alerting.

Looks like I’ll be using the Nav 5 for the rest of the trip.

Ok just to follow up, after de selecting the safety cameras and rebooting the device then re selecting safety cameras and rebooting the device again, resolved the issue. Safety cameras now responding :)
Bloody ridiculous really maybe some kind of bug in the software update or just user error

Thank you to everyone who responded (y)
