I am just looking for some information as what Garmin sat nav's will fit the mount on my 2014 RT. I am at present using my 3 year old 660 but I am considering updating it with a 590lm. I really do not want to pay the really outrageous price for a Nav v

So what happens when 660 is no longer supported ? are we going to be held to ransom by BMW ??

or will Garmin bring out another to fit ? if not then there will be a few disgruntled people down the line in a few years.

Thanks for that Fellers at least it's cleared up what I can I cannot use

My current sat nav

I just thought I'd include a picture of the three of us, that is the satnav, the bike and myself. Here is a picture just about to catch the ferry to Santander about four weeks ago

I have both the 660 and Nav V, and i reckon that the old 660 (with lifetime map updates) is almost as good as the Nav5.
On the RT, you get very little extra functionality with the menu wheel, unlike all the extra readouts you get on a GS/GSA.

So, I dont think its worth upgrading to the Nav5 on the RT.

I like my Nav V but does anyone else have problems with it "stuttering" when trying to play music on the SD card?
Not every time, but often enough, - if you stop, switch off and on again it works OK then (yes, I know the typical IT solution, but not much bloody good when you're travelling!)

ho Geordielad….I dont get that problem on my Nav5 …a friend had an issue of "broken" tracks, but he found the issue was the card itself , so he bought a new one (think it was 16gb) uploaded his music and was soon singing away happily again

Yes, I thought it might be my card at the start, so did the same - bought a new card, but no change.
Tried updating the software on it, but no different - think I'll contact Williams where I bought it and ask them.
Cheers
