Reliving bike trips whilst sat at my desk....
Gotta a bit of a problem, folks...

Just bought my Garmin Quest witha view to doing an Argentina trip next year. Problem now is that I cannot find any decent maps to download. :spitfire Contacted one company who are developping a map for route planning with street detail, but they will only download it physically to my module, or send it to me on a Garmin memory card :eek (perhaps a SD card too). Of course neither is much good to me, so does anyone know how I might get the map to my Quest from a card: perhps using a Street pliot 3 as an intermediary?

Garmin Tech say this won't work due to unlock codes...

Any suggestions, or was my Quest a waste of money?

Copying the data sounds easy on the face of it. If the company can copy it to an SD card, then you would just need to read that card from a PC with a SD Card reader (widely available, £10-20) and then use MapSource to copy the map data to the Quest.

Of course, MapSource will only allow you to do that if it accepts and can read the file format.

Im afraid I dont know how well Garmin and the Quest in particular get on with 3rd party mapping products and licencing.

Good luck,

Michael
