if you go for the Elite wi/fi one it can be triggered from a remote device, so far read some rather good reviews, shall be looking for a good deal in the new year. garmin are also saying they will be selling a remote switch but it can be triggered from any of their ANT enabled gps

Garmin virb

Evening

Any feedback on this camera yet please.? Thinking of buying one.

Cheers

Nice sensible shape. I don't think the lens rotates :nenau What are the mounts like?

Got my Elite a week ago and have started using it for cycling. The picture quality is excellent and I've been using the Garmin bar mount for forward facing and a K Edge rear mount.

I've downloaded the Virb editing software which has some v cool overlays and I'm still in the process of learning it.

Overall a well put together product which hooks up with my Garmin cycling accessories via Ant+ and adds another bit of fun for rd racing etc. I also think it looks a lot better than the boxy Go-Pro jobs.

There is a superb detailed review of it by DC Rainmaker on the web who reviews it v positively and sees its benefits specifically to cycling. I've not tried it on the GS yet.

Cheers Trev. I found that write as well.

Cheers

Evans Cycles have currently the best price for the Elite
Amazon have the best price for the std one

How does picture quality and price compare with the GoPro HD Black/ Drift Ghost.?

John Lewis seems best value as you get 2 yrs warranty as well as a cheaper price than some. £309 for the elite.?

But do I go Garmin or with the masses and buy a Go pro.

I paid £299 at Evans

I can't decide on the Garmin or the new Sony HDR-AS100VR which comes out in April. It's also got GPS which I think is a great plus over the excellent GOPRO.

If you're using other Ant+ devices such as cadence in cycling then the Virb will automatically pick them up. For cycling at least the Virb is the absolute business. Using Virb Edit software you can overlay gauges etc and customise your final edited video. I'm loving mine.

Virb

Yep just ordered one. Was really going for a Go Pro but liked some of the functions on the elite for skiing and cycling. Will post my thoughts on here soon.
