Looked at various options but wanted something minimal, opted for the SP Bar Clamp Mount Pro, SKU 53232, it comes with three different bolt lengths to attach to the handle bar clamp. Took off the swivel phone mount head attachment via a single bolt, and put a universal flat plate that I had off another sat nav mount project that had multiple holes, that went on just off centre and I screwed that on with two screws using the existing holes in the SP into the threaded holes on the mounting plate. Being off set allowed me to get the sat nav central and not interfering with the view of the speedo.
Wired it back to the under-seat positive terminal and the neutral is on the bolt that has attaches the live terminal rail to the bike frame, I wanted to keep the front end OEM power supply for another project, and I already had the Garmin power lead anyway.
