Dear All,
Recently bought a used Zumo 220.It's up to date with Garmin.
It works fine as a general sat nav & I have used it in the the UK & Europe. Now i'd like to plan some routes to put on it.
The unit has a micro sd card in it.
I've put Mapsource on the PC & it's seeing the device, but no maps when I click the tab.
What's up ?

I think you'll need to register the device with Garmin, or get the login details for the Garmin account of the original owner. You can also ask the seller to contact Garmin to de-register the device so that you can register it on your own account. You can then download the map version installed on the device directly to your PC. I'm a bit surprised that you can't see the map installed on the device when it is connected - try using Basecamp instead of Mapsource and you might have more success. Having said that, the only time I have attempted to use the maps on the device viewed on a PC for route planning, the result was so slow to update that I quickly gave up.

One other possibility is to use Tyre and Google maps. I always use Garmin's own s/w so have no real experience with Tyre but I know a few people who use it (and most of them end up swearing at the satnav as it does unexpected things with the route...)

Tomcat,
Thanks for the reply.
I've managed to get some routes on the Garmin using MotoGoLoco.
Will be putting to the test tomorrow as i'm off to France.
Cheers.
