Garmin Zumo 550 map update issue

Advice please!

I am trying to get European maps onto an SD card for my 550, unit I bought from a forum member last year (later end). Using mpasource, I am asked to unlock maps but did not receive the 25 number code that I apparently need to type in. Can this be obtained from Garmin or will the number be the sole preserve of the original owner?
I also have a lifetime update and in completing an update supplied by PistolPete (THANKS!!) which I have used but now the LifetiemUpdate icon has disappeared from my desktop. Is this an issue?

Any advice much appreciated!!

If the seller of my Garmin reads this - have you got the number I need?

Download and install Garmin Express.
Once that's up and working you should see the unit you have listed there.
It'll hopefully say updates are available. When you plug in the unit, it should lead you through it.
Albeit some PC owners have had hassles and on a Mac it's the greatest thing since sliced bread as the old way was a pita on a Mac...

Im trying to install europe on the SD card, because its too big for the internal memory, but Express (in windows 8) wont give me the option to install it to the SD card, it just says its full.

do i use map install and just send it to the 550 ? .. ive installed it and set it going, fingers crossed it sorted it
