OK so I've tried all the usual things, soft reset, hard reset removed the battery and even tried the "bounce it off the wall reset" and the fecken thing still refuses to work.:(:(

So, my question is, who are the Irish agents for Garmin repairs??

For UK customers in unlisted countries in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

Monday–Friday: 8:30 AM–5:30 PM Western European Time (GMT/UTC)
Phone (outside UK): +44 870 850 1242
http://www.garmin.com/us/support/contact/

Better to contact the UK support as none exists for Ireland as far as I know.
They will arrange to pick up your GPS at your home and deliver back to you as well.

Your looking at a refurbished unit being sent to you...so I hope you have your unit information backed up to your PC as you will lose it all.

I sent mine back a year ago at a cost of €120 for repair, they sent a refurbished unit back to me which failed after a week, back it went again and as they were out of refurbished units Garmin sent me a complete new Zumo instead...happy days :clap

Brian,

I sent my 550 back to Garmin, along with a fee of £110.

They sent me back a brand new 660, with all the related gubbins.

Considering I had bought the 550 second hand and it was 5 years old, I thought it was a great deal. Only took a week too.

Yip, similar story for me..

Zumo 400 from eBay, it played up and Gamin UK replaced it free of charge as it was only 13 months old and only "slightly" out of warranty.

The new one played up a bit a couple of months later and they replaced it with a brand new, boxed 550 with all the extras. I ended up selling my Zumo 400 box and fittings on eBay for almost as much as my original purchase, if that makes sense.

All in, my brand new, boxed 550 set me back about £50.

Thanks for the replies guy's:thumb

I'm going to chance returning it to Garmin (seeing as how some of you were so jammy):bow:bow

Knowing my luck they'll send me a paper back AtoZ of Ireland:blast
