exactly, I got fed up waiting ( i have no GPS now) and would prefer not to shell out my money to be a beta tester... for what anyone knows it could a be lemon. So I went with a 550.. it's already available, looks a bit more robust and works.

word is .. the *earliest* date that Zumo 660 shall be available/released is end of the Month (so thats end of April)

Well went to the Gadget show live today at the NEC and finally got my hands on a Zumo 660. After an initial play I can confirm that it is well worth the wait, screen is big, input is easy with an easy input of co-ordinates as well. If you couldn't wait and bought the 550 then unlucky, if you can stand the wait you won't be disappointed.

That doesn't make much sense, either it's the price at the time of ordering or it's not, I ordered from Handtec but not before several emails assuring me the price I pay is the price that I order at, my cc was charged at the time of ordering though.

Recently announced is this, the Mitac Mio C532 Ver 2 Navigator

Mio’s parent company Mitac of Japan is getting ready to release the Mio C523 V2, a GPS navigation system that can easily be fitted on to motorcycles if desired. They’ve come up with something called “rider mode” which will show the next three turns on one screen to minimize the time spent looking at the device.

Spec includes; 2GB internal memory, 4.3″ touch screen, 1seg digital TV tuner, Windows CE operating system, SiRF Star GPS receiver, and Samsung 2440 processor. The SRP is about $448

Its being touted at the bike market and against zumo 660, but am not sure if its really the new kid on the block

Jeepers thats pretty good. Looks like it even gets freeview up in the top left corner... this new digital switchover is great eh! So does it give me the next three turns so I can spend more time watching the rugby game instead of watching where I'm going... brilliant!

.. am hearing that first of the new units are being shipped into the reseller channel this week. This allocation appears to be rationed, more expected in next wave which you can expect from mid to end of May.
