Yep - bought my 660 with Scala Q2 from MNC. If a headset is Bluetooth compatible, then the 660 will pair with it - the older version of Scala rider will definitely work. MNC is expecting 660s next week, from Tuesday onwards. :JB

Also spoke directly to Garmin UK (initially about a tech issue with my 2610, but picked their brains about the 660 release) and internet retailers, such as GPSWarehouse, will be the first to receive them. Shed loads of them are sitting in stock with Garmin UK.

Obviously no firm commitment, but we should see 660s hitting the streets from Tuesday.:JB

I have had my order with Handtec in place since last month (at £417) and there's still no signs of delivery. However in an email I'm told they expect supplies 'this week'. However I see there has been ANOTHER price hike - this from the GPS Warehouse site - and a pretty major increase again;

"As of the 14th May Garmin have increased the Recommended Retail Price
of the Zumo 660 to £549.99 including VAT.

Existing orders will be charged at our discounted pre-increase price
of £419.99 including VAT and all new orders will be charged at £459.98
including VAT."

Reliable info has it that all 660 shipment was put on hold due to a serious route importing bug in the release firmware 2.70/2.80
Garmin is working hard on a fix.

Jumped of the fence

Ok you have pushed me.
Bought through Amazon £422 (I curse myself for not doing it earlier).

So is it a micro SD card I need?
Do I need the cable 1314? to coneect to my autocom?

Thanks

Yes, Micro SD card, but only if you want loads of space for music files etc. You don't need it just for navigation. That said, I read somewhere that you can store additional routes on the card, but I haven't yet tried to use that facility, if it exists.

It will only play music in MP3 file format, too, so you may need to buy additional software to convert standard WMA files to MP3, and probably remove DRM restrictions if you bought tracks online. If you rip CDs, just save in MP3 format if your software allows it.

I can't remember the Autocom cable number, but it's a 3.5mm jack needed - older/other Garmins were 2.5mm.

Hope this helps

Yoy

Yup but they will not debit my card before despatch, if I find one before it is despatched I can cancel my order. I decided, a while ago, to wait (mistake) and all I see is the price climbing :blast

That'll be a first! Heck, they usually ship regardless then you get all the firmware updats that follow. According to Garmin's website, the new firmware was released earlier this week....

I got mine From RGM yesterday for £450. He told me he can get them next day if needed. as many as wanted. Its great so far. Iv had no problems with it. :)

How is it that Garmin have not released any Zumo 660 units in the UK but people are getting some?
Does it mean that they have been sold non-UK models which could affect any warranty claims?
Also, I thought that Garmin only sold their satnavs through certain outlets as posted on their website?

Garmin have released a very limited amount to certain retailers, apparently GPSW only had 8 and they're the people Garmin UK told me to go to. It sounds like Garmin are restricting unit supply, shit for customers who've preordered but good buisness practice to shift all those 550's :(
been waiting this long so I don't have to buy a 550, another couple of weeks won't kill me :blast

You're misinformed! Garmin have and are supplying 'proper' devices. I have one. I'm not related to Garmin, but whoever told you that, is talking out their ar5e.

I'm not overly fussed about the delay myself, though unwarranted. At least they are honouring the original price we paid for it, which is great news :thumb2

I suppose it is - however one would have thought Garmin would have got their act together since it was they who settled on the '11th May' aftr the previous 'wooly' Min-Feb/MarchApril Early May.... etc etc

Any bets they'll have previewed the Zumo 770 before ours all arrive?

I got mine from RGM last week. Spoke to Roy today to see if he had any more in for a mate, Roy said he's sold 8 in the last two days and there is no problem with supply. So if anyone is waiting I would suggest giving him a ring.01772 603781
