Hey,

So I'm looking at getting a sat-nav for the bike, as I normally just use google maps whilst in the car.

Apart from the obvious features (works well, easy to use, clear, etc) I'd like it to have upgradeable maps to areas outside of Europe, Morocco being my first planned trip.

The 660 seems like a good choice, but I'm sure there must be other alternatives out there. Does anyone have recommendations?

Cheers!

I use a garmin montana, Superb bit of kit and can have multiple maps on it at any one time. I have OSM, garmin navigator and topographic ones on it at the moment. I previously had a 660 and personally think the montana is better.

I just had a quick look at that, but didn't go into the nitty gritty. I'm thinking a 550 might be a good choice, as it has very similar features of the 660.. but it's only £125ish used on ebay. If I can load in the latest maps (or the open source ones), then it should be just as good.

The 660 is a much better unit than the 550 in my opinion
Bigger screen. Much much faster at processing info. Quite a few come across the for sale board on here due to the newer bikes having integrated units built in as delivered.
