Garmin Zumo XT Lock

I have always wondered how many bods have had their GPS devices stolen off its standard mount.

I can’t recall ever seeing a rash of unhappy punters’ tales of being robbed and left bereft of navigstion.

Does anyone have any experience of one of these https://www.louis-moto.co.uk/en/zumolock-anti-theft-device-for-zumo-xt-10054670

I like the simplistic look of the standard Garmin mount, so don’t want the Touratech version on my GSA. I’m just after something to slowdown an opportunist.

I’ve used the Zumo lock on two bikes, with the BMW 4-button cradle and a Nav5/6. Decent bit of kit. Like the OEM lockable mount, it won’t stop a determined trophy hunter but should stop the casual passer-by trousering your satnav…

My pal had his swiped off his XR whilst sat at traffic lights in Manchester. Before we had chance to react, the scroats were off down a side alley on a scooter.

Cheers Richard

I have one, nice and simple to use, need to get the various bits aligned properly, especially as if the lock is preventing the Garmin bit of plastic fully engaging, it can allow the power to go on and off in a worst case scenario, as it is in effect, ejecting the XT. Hope that makes sense?

Looks like I’ll order one. Just found a company in the UK that stock them :beerjug:

I have one, something to consider is the position of your XT. If its up above the clocks make sure you have clearance to get the key in, if your screen is already near the top of your Nav then getting the key in and turned can be a challenge.

Cheers. Looks like there is plenty of room between the top of the Nav and the screen on the 1250 GSA

This is true. The key is quite small but that doesn't help if the gap is smaller :blast
