Do any of you guys know for sure if the gas canister for a Jet Boil with the screw fitting EN417 is available in Croatia and Turkey?

Have just had a dry run at packing for an upcoming trip and I have at present a 450g JetBoil gas canister which is bulky, if I could readily purchase the EN417 screw fitting canister then I would take the smaller option which fits neatly inside the JetBoil (100g) and take a spare.

Are there any major outdoor stores common to the bigger cities/towns?

I have copied your post into the camping section, where someone might pick up on it too.

As to whether it’s possible, I have no idea. However, having once been stuck in France, unable to find a Coleman (EN17) type gas canister, I bought myself a number of converters, enabling me to run assorted different gas canisters through the Coleman valve. The converters weigh next to nothing and will last a lifetime.

See your original post in the travel section for more: https://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php/597408-Gas-canister-fitting-EN417?p=6455190#post6455190

I don't know what gas you can buy there but I would take the adaptors suggested and you should be fine. Depending what you plan to use the gas for, 100g is not much, even for brews. I'd make the space and take the bigger canister, pack your tea bags etc inside the jetboil.

In the unlikely event you can't get gas to work you buy a cheap local canister and stove.

Cheers Jock....

Your 100% correct that 100g canister is not much, the thinking behind it was I could take the 450g canister at a squeeze, but when its half empty its still a 450g canister, and when its three quarters empty I would be looking to buy a new one and I would be trying to store 2 canisters until the original runs out.

The 100g ones, whilst not cost effective, would be simpler as long as I new I could get them.

I dont function too well without coffee in the morning!!!

I take 2 C500’s when I go camping! :blast :D And two lighters. And waterproof matches! :D
Dib dib dib.

Primus Omi Fuel for me run it on gas or petrol or any liquid that burns I take 1 large gas cartridge and a 600 ml tank of aspen and a bike full of petrol . I also take a compact rocket stove to do toast on with the gas cartridge
