Hi ,any one got the gear assist pro fitted out there ,
just had one fitted yesterday,and it works great ,but three times on way home when changing up from 1st to 2nd ,then 2nd to 3rd the engine cuts out completly and nearly makes you go forward and hit the screen !! amazing the force when there is no engine power, Spoke to the dealer said never had this reported before ?.
Any one had the same problem .?

I have the GAPro too and have none of the issues you mentioned. You must have the throttle open when upshifting and closed when downshifting.

I only use the clutch to put it into 1st.

It works great on mine...

Mine work's great no issues at all, I would be waiting outside the dealer's in the morning and wanting some answers

I had exactly the same issue since having the GAP fitted. It was usually 2nd to 3rd but sometimes 4th to 5th and very frequent. It even did it on clutched changes. I reported it and it was checked but no fault found. It continued. Since changing to BP ultimate fuel and fitting a booster plug to fiche the fuel mixture it has done it only once. It seems to be related to fuel mixture somehow in my case but I am monitoring it.

Same problem on mine, think it's the worst thing I have done to my bike...
Back to dealers for 3rd time after the weekend, I'm not sure if it's not the actual component that's fitted to the gear selector shaft, they initially had troubles getting the codes to accept, also only works intermittently..
Anyone got a cure.?

Obviously this isn't normal, and several dealers have had coding issues. Anyone with problems will have the incorrect code. I left mine with the dealer for the day when they did mine, and they had to try a few codes before it worked properly, but by the time I picked it up, it worked perfectly.:thumb

I have noticed that if I don't keep the throttle open when shifting, it doesn't like it, but that's the idiot rider, not the GSA pro.:comfort:D

Same here.

Bike was at the dealer all day.

It works beautifully.

Also:

Up = Throttle Open
Down = Throttle Closed

I'm pleased with this thing. And it's not a track only thing as another user said. It's far more useful than you would think.

Don't want to scare factor, I'm sure mine is just a faulty switch or something simple, but it really jerks & backfires, the lot, it's booked in Friday 18th & I'll leave it a day or 2 for them to have a proper look

Yep, I've got exactly the same problem. Mostly first to second, occasionally second to third.

When I got mine, I was told that it's better from second to third onwards, however, first to second has been ok, as long as the revs are higher. The S1000R I took out a few weeks ago, with the quickshifter, had problems between first and second, but the rest of the shifts were buttery smooth.

As Nutty found out, for any quickshifter to work properly, the bike needs to be doing a reasonable lick forward or the momentary killing of the ignition is sufficient to result in clangs and bangs within the transmission when it cuts back in again.

Twist the throttle hard, keep it pinned open and flick the gear lever upwards. Repeat as necessary. It really is that simple.

Yes, the front wheel might leave the ground or skim along (more so if you've got bloody great panniers pushing the back down) but don't worry, it will not flip as the electronics will sort it all out for you. Have faith in technology

PS It's only a touch over 120 bhp and weighs a chunk, you'll never go far wrong.

Yes those are real flames out of the exhaust... Report back when a WC does it, too.
