gear assist pro on lc

My £350.00 quote was for supply and install onto my March 2014 registered GS TE.

So, dealer price for a retro fit can be anything from £350 to £450. That's quite a variation!

I brought my shift assist from the dealer, 10% disc applied ask them to apply for the code from bmw for your chassis, i fitted it myself, not rocket science and when it had its first service i asked them to code it with the service, saved £100 .

Gear shift assist

Had a quick sifter on my 1300 R. But really impressed by this on my new GS.

Not good in low gears but perfect in 3 up or down to third.

Gear assist pro? It's great!

Collected my 2014GS TE from Cotswold Motorrad today, following it's 6000 mile service and gear assist pro fitment. Following a brief ride, I am happy to confirm that it's probably the best £350.00 I've ever spent on a bike accessory. The gear change quality ( up and down the box) is excellent, and I'm really looking forward to a longer biking trip this weekend to get better acquainted with it. Fantastic!

have succumbed to it today.

its a fun toy , upshifts at 3/4 throttle is sublime.

At full throttle there is a noticeable bang as the next cog goes in , but still quicker and cleaner than manual.

downshifts : still working on it. Qualified by just a short ride : it seems pretty strange and isn't instinctive for fast riding. Ie , in a correct situation , the lower gear is selected in anticipation of the corner and certainly not when you're arriving there on the brake with a CLOSED throttle.

Strange downshifting interpretation here on the part of bmw ?

I ftted Gear Shift Assist to the GSA yesterday and got the dealer to programme it today, had to remember NOT to close throttle on upshifts, works great I love it, the shifts up and down are seamless, only had a an hour's ride this morning but already rate this as one of the best mods for this bike.
Thanks DING DONG :thumby:
