The bloody thingy that tells you what gear you're in is playing up. 2nd gear shows neutral, 4th and 5th show 4th only, 1st gear sometimes shows 1st sometimes neutral.

Has anyone else had this issue and if so, how do I sort it?

Ta.

theres a connector on the left hand side below the fuel tank near the air intake its a cylindrical shaped connector try disconnecting it and give it a wee squirt with WD40 .

there wise it could be the gear indicator located at the back of the gear box its held in with a spring clip if i recall this could be goosed

Yep, could be soaked, let it dry out. Mine had to be replaced but I left it until the clutch was renewed.

I can get 9th gear on mine every now and again:thumb2

Most of the time it's blank altogether.

I've never seen the point of gear indicators really, if you don't know what gear you're in, you should be walking!

It will dry out...

As he said - a common problem which will resolve itself, the sender I believe is tucked away in front of the rear wheel, a spray with water repellent (WD40) can help and then just ride your bike - hay presto it will sort itself eventually....

Depends if he has an 1100 or 1150.

Completely different switches that connect in completely different places and attach to the gearbox in completely different ways :D .
