Gear selector indicator?

Mine did that recently, it got worse as it then stopped showing other gears as well. The dealer replaced a switch(gear selector?) on it which sorted it out. One thing to note though. Before I could get to the dealer I fired it up and then it stalled, when I started it again it lurched forward as though it was in gear!!

Mine did similar then became worse flashing through numerical gears before not starting. Get to the dealer it's a simply switch replacement. But I doubt it will get better on it's own.

common problem on 1150s when water gets into the switch. they do seem to get better on their own though a squirt of WD40 or similar speeds up the process sometimes.

a 1200 under warranty? get dealer to put a new one on :)

Thanks everyone. So can this actually stop the bike from starting? Where is this switch?
The bke will still start if you pull the clutch in.

The switch is located on the rear of the transmission.

Yes the bike will eventually not start. From my experience the the gear selector will eventually jump from one number to the another whilst the bike is stationary preventing you from starting the bike. The selector is in a cr*p place and can easily get covered in crud. Ring the dealer and get it booked in on the warranty would be my advice.
