I've had another "one off" oil letting from the swing arm. I suspect my gearbox breather needs a good clean out. So.....

Any handy hints as to how to get to the little bugger without stripping down most of the bike :(

Will the airbox come out without splitting the frame? or will it move enough out of the way :nenau

Seems like I could be in for a busy weekend :blast

I suspect my gearbox breather needs a good clean out.

Got myself nice and intimate with my bike, puckered my lips around the gearbox filler hole and couldn't blow - breather definitely blocked.

Seat off, panels off, inlet rubbers off, engine breather off, take out 4No bolts holding airbox assembly, and then the whole assembly can be moved back about 5mm
There's no way that airbox is moving or coming out without splitting the frame (ie the rear end of the bike off)

Fortunately that 5mm movement opened up a gap between the airbox and clutch housing which allowed me to get my first glimpse of the breather (well, one side of it):clap
There's not enough room to get fingers in, but I used a long handled blunt screwdriver to clean round the breather, managing to rotate the rubber cover around and "squash it about a bit".

Now when I blow through the gearbox filler the air escapes through the breather :clap

Guess I've been lucky in dislodging whatever was blocking the breather :augie

Sounds like if we'd had pictures, it would've looked like you were giving mouth to mouth to your bike. That's real love that is :D
