Gearbox / clutch replacement guide?

I need to replace my gearbox on a year 2000 1150GS.
I've been doing a search but so far can't find a detailed thread with pics (or video on Youtube) that'll show me what to do.
As I'll be doing it outside (no garage) I really want to know what I'll be letting myself in for before and IF I start.
I've asked around for a price for having it done and have no replies as yet, but am expecting it to be too expensive as I'm very short on cash right now.
Can anyone please point me in the right direction of a detailed guide?

Well 1 st you need manual , and remember bike need to be split in 2 so you wont be able to move .

It goes through the motions of removing the final drive, swinging arm and transmission to get access to the clutch. Now while this refers mainly to an R1100RT. The principles are very similar in that the bike has to be "split in half".

But a good manual would help as well.

You don't need a garage so to speak, but if doing it outside in the road you're going to have half a bike parked up with lots of parts laying about.
Just take your time, it's only nuts and bolts.

Cost of rebuilding your gearbox all depends on whats damaged.

If just bearings and seals you're looking around £350-£400 to do the complete box all parts and labour.

If any shafts are needed it all depends on which shafts
I've around 8-10 old gearboxes in bits but only a couple of good input shafts amongst all the parts as they are sought after due to the splines wearing out.
