I’ve recently changed back to a standard exhaust as the Dominator set up on the bike was way too noisy for the quite country area I live in.
I’ve since noticed that the gearbox a pretty nasty rumble while riding (sounds like a bag of spanners). It’s not there if I pull the clutch in so the gearbox is just spinning over with the momentum of the rear wheel driving it. It only happens when the whole drive train is connected via the clutch and doesn’t seem as bad in 5th.
Any thoughts about where to look first?

If it's the earlier R1100 gearbox M93/94 that's one of the main indicators of a worn/damaged taper roller bearing fitted as standard...

My last 2 11GSs have been m97 boxes to avoid the taper roller probs I had before X2... I'm now down to dealing with rattles and the like if they break as oilheads are noisy runners and always in a slightly different way...😂😂

Like a bomb’s gone off in a glitter factory 😢
