Gearbox/final drive oil

What's the best oil for these - 80/90 normal gear oil or something fancy???
Also is adding something like moly slip a good idea ???

I buy ApI spec GL-5 80/90 Hypoid gear oil cheaply by the gallon and change it regularly, (every 6K, more important I believe than putting expensive stuff in and leaving it longer between changes)
Dont use any additives, snake oil IMO,
Done the same on all my BMW's including an R1200 & R1100, not had final drive problems on anything

That's what I do - oil is cheap.

I change all the fluids every 3000 (oil filter at 6000) - probably over the top but it costs very little in real terms. Shame that the gearbox and FD fill comes to just over a litre though

The important bit in the spec is GL5 coz of what additives do to the bearing materials
