Just recently I have been having problems selecting any gear after second when I come to change gear the gear pedal feels as though it is in top gear, I have tried feathering the clutch etc the only way round it seems to be to change down then come back up the box it does eventually change gear but before I take it back to the dealers (bike still under warranty) I thought I would ask the question, do they all do this?!!
Sounds like your gear linkages have gone "dry". Very simple to fix if you can't be arsed to go to your dealer. Just pop out the two spring clips, pull the gear rod off, put a little grease in both end caps and put it back together. Takes less than ten minutes.
When my bike first did this, I took it to my local dealer who charged me around sixty quid.......they told me that the footpeg carrier had to come off as well as the starter motor cover. What a load of bollocks!
Anyway, the next time it happened, I had a look for myself and thought, "hey, this aint difficult".
Cheers Phil I will give it a go see what happens, I have just been reading hte thread re Mick RW's bike and the warranty not covering him imagination started to run riot!! I started thing it would need a new gearbox!!, cheers matey!
