Afternoon all,
I've just given my 2000 model 1150GS a bit of a service before heading off for a few days and changed all the oils.
My gearbox has taken pretty much the whole of a 1L container of GL-5 gear oil, up to the lower threads of the fill port. I was expecting it to take 750-800ml (according to what I've read).
It was filled while on it's centre stand on a flat surface, BUT I do have cast alloys so the front was tipped fractionally lower than usual. I tipped it back onto the rear wheel and some oil dribbled out, but not very much. I suppose I could leave it dribbling and see how much comes out into a tray, but that's a bit messy and not sure if it's necessary!
Should I be concerned and drain off about 200ml, or just leave it and "it'll be fine!"?
Cheers,
Dom
