I've had my 1150GSA for nearly a year and its been great. Bur the other day I was finding it increasingly difficult to select a lower gear as I slowed down for lights etc. By the end of the day it was nearly impossible. Does anyone have a suggestion as to the problem and solution?

Yep ...

... and you can relax because it's unlikely to be the gearbox, it's probably the gear shift linkages. Do a search on here, then dismantle, clean and replace, job sorted :thumb

:thumb:thumb Wot he said!

Once you have cleaned the linkage, you will start to wonder why all those people rate tthe BWM gearbox as clunky......well maybe not, but it will be a lot slicker.

Gears

Bigger left boot nice and heavy.

Great Forum lads,
I was on the motorway yesterday in the lashing rain and I had to slow for the traffic and I couldn't change down the gears, lots of kicking and cursing later I managed to change down the gears and get to work.
After reading this topic I went home with a worried head on me hoping I would make it, and after following the advice here to clean the gear linkage and grease it up a bit, the gears are changing like a hot knife thru butter, better than ever before.
I should have cleaned and greased them more often.
Thanks for the help lads
