These gearboxes easy to fix I have knocking bearings in mine when it runs in neutral sounds like a knocking noise open bearings or sealed ones what do you think ?

Easy if you are a mechanic and know what you are doing and hard if you aren't. :rob
Getting the spacing correct on case reassembly can be a bastard without a cut slave case where you can check the shims with the box assembled.

I didn't want to risk expensive mistakes and as he was local to me I gave mine to Scrimingers in Sleaford to overhaul for a very reasonable price..

Sounds like layshaft bearings on yours.

Thinking how to respond to this in a constructive way ....This is the best I can come up with

Folks NEED to LEARN to "Diagnose"! NOT to jump to conclusions! :rob

A LOT of these bikes "rattle a bit" which is frequently amplified by the not very viscous lubricants used

Does it go away when you pull in the clutch??

Then move to step 2

Do you know what Oil is in there??

If not Drop the oil out and stick in the required amount of EP90 GL5

IF you decide to drop the oil? Check it carefully for "Sparkles" little silver flakes or Is the Oil Very Bronzy looking???

If its sort of Murky looking then all should be okay "but" if it has sparkles?

Stick in 800 cc's of flushing oil and do a few hundred yards basically enough to get up and down the gears More distance won;t really be a problem as long as you do everything under LIGHT throttle and gentle clutch action

In other words "BE GENTLE" all you want to do is get everything moving and hopefully flush any remaining schite out

Drop the Flushing oil and leave it to drain as long as possible

Add the GL5 spec Gear Oil of choice and then do another change in 100 miles and see if its clear

That way it cost you for a couple of bottles of Gear oil and a bottle of flushing oil :thumb2 !

I fully agree with the knocking, and a good throttle body balance helps a ton.

But if you have a rumble at standstill, it may be the intermediate shaft bearings, they have a habit of going.
