Hi all

First post but I did search before asking. Here in the Colonies information is not forthcoming so I turn to those across the pond.

I have a 2011 GSA Adventure with an Enduro transmission.

What is the fill capacity when changing the gear oil?

I have been told to the threads which took over .9L (900ml).
I have been told .8L (800ml).
I have been told .7L (700ml) for the Enduro transmission.

Does anybody have the correct answer in a tech bulletin or on the reprom?

Thanks

Terry

Why are you changing the gearbox oil on a 2011 bike?

The 'enduro box' just has a lower ratio first gear, other than that it's identical.

Did you not get a handbook with it? Always worth a read

Yeah, I got a rider's manual. Does not say a word about the final drive or the gearbox. BMW stopped putting that info in the manual around 2005.

At 6,000 miles I am doing the service and for $15 (US) I go ahead and change all of the fluids. Kinda soon I know. This is my third boxer so no stranger to them.

Marki, I really appreciate. I was getting ready to split the difference between 700ml and 900ml at 800ml. Don't know why BMW considers it a secret.

I contacted six dealers over here and got 700ml from two, 800ml from two and 900ml from two. None of them would E-Mail me something along the lines of a bulleton or the reprom page. Something to do with national security I guess. Either that or it is easier to deny warranty if the level is incorrect.

Again, Marki, thanks

Apology not necessary. Gotta admit though, at least I didn't ask what oil to use. :clap

Thanks again everyone.
