I know a lot has been said on these forum about gearchange snags on the 1150, but I wanted to pick peoples brains again.
I have been having problems changing down recently, and stripped down, cleaned and lubricated the linkage. I noticed that on upchanges the gear lever springs back to a neutral position, but on downchanges it doesn't. If I physically lift the lever to its normal position first, the change works fine. Does anyone know if there is some kind of return spring that should pull the lever back up to the normal position.
I'm loath to pay my local dealer £600ish just to strip down the gearbox and examine it if all it is is a case of lift the lever prior to changing down.
