gee, look what followed me home,350 miles

bumble bee's are everywhere. at least six have popped up in kansas in the past two months. bought my 19,000 mile one there about six weeks ago. back to kansas for this one yesterday, 600+ mile round trip.
28,000 miles two owner. bought as a non-runner. hmmm, the gas doesn't smell bad...what the hell i'll put the battery out of my other gs and see what happens. holly cow!, she fired up, sounded good, rode it around the block, everything works.needs some tlc but what do you expect after a year long slumber.
i just couldn't pass this one up for the price....

Whats that oil filter set up like? Anyone here used one like that and what are tyhe pros and cons????
 
Another vote to take the shotgun to that hideous rear seat rest...only someone who's totally and utterly pussywhipped could ever have something that Fugly on the back for long :blast
 
this is a tough crowd.heres a gander at what the gs looked like when i picked it up. tarted up like a ten dollar whore.

i couldn't strip the accessories off fast enough.yes those are highway pegs and walmart aux. lights. had some sort of lock box with a cargo tray mounted on the rear rack. oh, and the parabellum fairing. gonna 86 the remote spin on filter too. uses a k bike cartridge.left the seat on to wash it and it'll stay on till i find another.
first thing the p.o. does is drop it over on its side while he wheels it out of the garage. i think its happy to be away from him
 
next stop for the seat, fairing, lock box, rack extender....ebay.

It's not the seat that's ugly.....TBH I quite like that, it fits in and although not original (which seems to matter rather a lot more than it should to some of the old boys who smell of wee around here:augie) it looks fine.

It's that ridiculous looking pillion backrest that needs taking off and putting in a skip :barf

corbin seat and backrest. was actually going to take the backrest off last night, but couldn't find what secures it to the seat. what i really should do is shelve it except for rides with the wifey and get a solo seat for everyday.

Have you and the wife tried sitting on the bike with the back rest in place? You'll both need to be smaller than the average American to fit, unless you like sitting with your crotch around the tank cap.
 
Ignore these grumpy old fellas pack that's a great looking bike it's obvious you have put a lot of work into her. The seat back rest is a bit of a shock to us conservative Brits but then we struggle to ride more than 100 miles without dropping into the sea.

Be nice to have a few more Yanks on the site :beerjug:

It may be my fat Aussie arse but I reckon Corbins are uncomfortable. It's like sitting on the dunny:)
The standard GS seat with an Airhawk is pretty comfy.

Sold one Corbin and am going to list one like in the above pics on Ebay soon.

Rob -the Poms that drop off into the sea seem to wash up here:beerjug:

Its a Corbin so the pillion back rest is usually a metal square section post which slots into a hole at the rear of the seat and you can just pull the whole thing out and then reposition. There will be a small flap covering a similar hole at the rear of the riders seat.

I had one on my 1100 and as a rider backrest it was blooody great.
 
my uncle in San Jose has a 1500 'wing with a backrest for rider, amazing how much effort it takes off the arms.

(although I like to think of it as a workout)
