Gerbings new BMW Hella plugs are straight not curly. Why would that be?

The straight ones aint gonna be long enough for me for where I want to mount the socket:(

I know I could get an extension - but its all money :augie

Yip, wanted one myself and ended up buying a curly etension as well to make it long enough

That's the problem with life.

You want to mount to mount the plug where you want it, not where a mainstream manufacturer thinks most people will mount it. So it will cost you something to achieve the perfection you so much desire.

Yes, it's all money. I wanted to run power neatly into my tankbag and panniers. BuMW and TT do not cut neat holes for me to use and I had to buy good quality sockets to stop water getting in. That cost me money, too.

As to why they are straight? Because they can be. Ask Gerbing or tell them (not us) that they should be more like a pig's tail, preferably in lengths to suit every customer's wants.

Find some curly lead, cut down the Gerbing lead to suit and join the two together, neatly.

Well lucky old me - I wanted a straight lead, and not too long. And it saved me money, as long curly wiring is more expensive .

So i'd be in your predicament if they only supplied long and curly.

Excuse me while i pop out to purchase a lottery ticket while my luck is in. :thumb

If you do come up trumps on the lottery, please consider a small donation to my family to cover my funeral expenses. Im off to top myself.
