A friend has Gerbing gloves that have buttons on the cuffs to control the heat but she's finding the buttons get pushed by the sleeves of her jacket and they switch off. Do you know if she uses a wired controller would it override the cuff buttons?

My wired Gerbing dual controller has an "extra" blue lead that is uncontrolled in that it bypasses the thermostat. This blue lead is for the gloves with their own controllers.

Regarding your thoughts, definitely talk to Gerbing first to establish clearly why they would not recommend it.

Unfortunately all the Gerbing gloves now have the buttons, so after many years of Gerbing gloves I will be buying Warm 'n safe next time (Damn Gerbing's lifetime electrical warranty!)

Thanks for the reply, while I was writing that last night she ordered a warm and safe jacket and glove liners so her problem will be solved. I agree though, the button thing seems like a backward step to me but it might suit others.

I picked up a pair of used Alpine heated gloves that work with Gerbing but again, no lifetime warranty even if they are bought new.

The Keis ones have exactly the same issue.
They steadfastly refuse to move them despite many complaints from real world users.

They'd be better off reducing the size of the controllers or improving the wireless option. The Warm and Safe controller is great but it costs nearly as much as the jacket.

That's why i went for the long cuff Gerbings, but the downside is you can't easily tuck the cuffs inside the jacket sleeves to keep the water out!

Not sure you understand my reply.
The issue is with the buttons being on the cuff and the jacket switching them off.
Not the external controllers which you can’t use with the gloves.
They’d only have to move it towards the web of the thumb and it would be ok.
But no, they say it’s in the ideal place. Despite most winter jacket cuffs extending down over the button.
