Great Pics Ronno - just reinforces the fact why I keep asking myself "why am I not going to The Alps this year but Barcelona.." I suppose theirs still time to work on the lads to bring them to their senses...

Well, that's it then for another year...great memories.

One slight hiccup though was having to kit out Mrs Ronno with lighter jacket, trousers and gloves due to the temperatures being in the mid 30s for the first few days of our trip. Her Hein Gericke gear is OK for Scottish summers but no use on the continent. We found a good BMW dealership in Landau and she got an Air Flow 3 jacket and summer trousers as well as Air Flow gloves.

A day or so later and my leather trousers actually stuck to the seat when I tried to put my foot on the ground at lights. I also had to get a pair of the summer trousers.

Can't wait till I get my Visa bill :(

Hope Jane doesn't see this Ronno, she's already talking about how hot it is in Germany at the moment

So that's what the Timmelsjoch looks like - there was near zero visibility due to cloud/rain/fog when I rode over a few weeks back; a thoroughly miserable mornings riding :(

Thankfully the weather cleared up later and it was fine on the Silvretta highway

Sven,

You were unlucky, mate. The day we went was a bit overcast and showery when we left Stanzach, Austria but it had cleared up by the start of Timmelsjoch. The ride was fantastic but I don't know if I'd have fancied it in zero visability

Do yourself a favour and go again. It simply is awesome.

Great shots Ronno

Nice to see this beautiful area again Espec like the wee shot of Moos, we stayed there overnight 24 Euros

Great stuff Ronno :beerjug:

Alte,

The chairlift up to Zugspitz was worth the dosh alone. I kept waiting for Richard Burton or Clint Eastwood to appear...

...this was about as much as we could see from the top though...

Andy,

I've never been to Barcelona but doubt if it will be half as good as the Alps...:)

Germany/Austria

Hi Ronno

Great Photo's had we had the time I think Alte would have ridden the Timmelsjoch from Moos to the summit and back down again as he enjoyed it so much coming the opposite way but as you are aware we had an agenda that morning incidentally the wee B&B in Moos was called Cafe Maria and is situated about 100 metres past the garage on the right (for the info of anyone going that way in the next few month's and looking a bed)
