Just a brief report on my bike trip to Germany/Switzerland/France in June this year. Apologies for the usual late write up.
As usual the emphasis is on photos as opposed to narrative.
I got the HSS Belfast - Stranraer then DFDS Newcastle Ijmuiden again this year after last years good experience. I wasn’t disappointed although the Sea Food Buffet on board the Queen of Scandinavia had gone up to 28.50 Euros this year. Worth every penny though.
I decided to call in with those nice Wunderlich people in Sinzig as I fancied one of their carbon huggers for the bike. I called in and was made to feel welcome and bought the said hugger it worked out at £140 which, although expensive, was cheaper than I could get it here at home. They had a computer with internet access and free Tea/Coffee/Iced water and a massive box of tools with which you could attach your newly purchased ‘bling’
After Sinzig I set sail for my main target in Germany, namely this place
It did not disappoint. I am going to attach some of my pics that I took there. They are of varying quality some of the stuff you may recognise, it was a real ‘petrol head fest’ as you will see. I managed to get to see an old R75 side car outfit from WWII which I have been wanting to see ‘in the metal’ for a long time… result.
There were a great many of exhibits here from Concorde the FW190 and Fisler Storch to Ferraris Porsches and F1 racing cars. Well here goes.
The much awaited R75 sidecar outfit
The amazing Schwimmwagen with oars on the side
The Fisler Storch ohne motor
phew ... taking a break, back soon
