Hi all,

I have just got an 1150GS which I picked up on Monday. So far I am loving it - it certainly far better than my previous Honda Varadero.

I am having trouble getting into first gear immediately after starting the engine (after it has warmed up). The gear lever moves, the big green "N" light blinks on/off but it will not engage first until I have messed about a bit (so far combinations of releasing/pulling the clutch lever, revving the engine, moving the bike with my feet have let me get it into gear, or so it seems...) It goes into 2nd ok from start, and I have no problems during normal running.

Anyone got any ideas?

TIA,

SilverFish

I've had the same problem - it's because it's 'new'. My gear shift has loosened up a little now (5k) & it's a bit easier. When it wont go into 1st, I go up to 2nd & then down to 1st, that usually works.

It's happening less now.

Wouldn't mind other comments on this.

Sorted!

Thanks,

Letting out the clutch slowly slips it into gear as you said.

Got anything to keep white van man more than 30cm from my rear wheel?

Cheers,

RE : White Van

Try a white helmet and green reflective jacket. He will either back off or run you down.
