Quite happily in the real world
I have recently added a Matrox G450 dual head graphics card onto a relatively old PC (WinXP Pro, Pentium 4), and have it set up so the 2nd monitor is an extended desktop area.

This extended area is visible to Joe Public, in a health-car/education type way, thus allowing me to drag any window I wish to use at the time onto it (they can't see the main monitor).

The rest of the time I would like to have something like an animated tropical aquarium wallpaper playing, but not as a screensaver if that makes sense.

I've tried several different ones, and looked over the www. and can't get it to install on the 2nd monitor. They install fine on the main primary monitor.

Any help appreciated.

I'm not sure on XP.......If you are able to put W7 on the machine, it's easy, you just open it on either screen, drag it onto the second screen and and maximise it there.....it 'sticks' to that display.

I would have thought the same would happen with XP but it's a long time since I've used it, sorry :nenau

Ok thanks.

Which ones have you used?

All the ones (freeware) I have tried have been executable's that seem to default to the main monitor on installatio rather than 'adding a wallpaper' into windows & don't give an option as to where to install.

I haven't to be honest.

I often run a TV or film on one monitor whilst I'm working on one of the other 2, and at most times I have at least two applications open on different screens (EG Photoshop and Dreamweaver or one of the website admin areas or an FTP prog or something on the others)

If I was doing what you're trying to do (in fact, I will be at some point in the office/shop at the shed) I'd find a You-tube video that was suitable and set it to loop , whack it on the second screen and maximise it there, or make up a short SWF animation and do the same.

You could even create a playlist for You-tube of as many YT clips as you needed to fill the time you want this screen active, and run those maximised in it.

have a look at display fusion,

http://www.displayfusion.com/

it allows you to have a different image as wallpaper on each monitor, that may work for you

Nice little prog, thanks for that :)

I've just installed the pro version (be careful.....the place I got mine from also tried to slip that nasty Babylon search malware crap in under the radar :blast)

Nice features though......It would work for the OP I reckon, if he ran his fishtank as a screensaver on the second monitor :thumb2

(I'm liking having a toolbar on the other screens myself.....something I've been meaning to get around to sorting out for a long time)
