Just wondering how to go about this really... After fitting the HID's from Les, I want to get the level of the lights bang on now. I've read a few various things, but its all suggesting I do different things, and not sure where to go from there...

I also want to get the spots pointing right too, not sure where or how I should aim these...

So how do you aim your lights? Is there a tried-and-tested method for setting the level of the beams for the R12GSA??

Cheers :)

Well, you can look at that video clip.

Or look online for the MOT guidance specs.

Or how about just pop into an MOT place and ask if you can adjust your beams against their test markers ?

Bung them a box of cream cakes or a jar of coffee as a thank you and they`ll be willing to help you ever after. :thumb2

Watch from 1:56 ->

But shurely the aim was set perfectly by the wonderful M/C dealer prior to you changing the bulbs for HiD?

Aye this is true, but by time I sit my fat arse on the bike, the level is different to what it was when set on the stand or however they set it :aidan

Will have a watch at the video & buy a few packs of hobnobs for bribes :)

The main thing I'm puzzled with is the spots, there isn't really much info on how hight they should be pointing (if at all)

Find a quiet dark road (take a head torch and required tools). Ride up and down to see if your lights are at the correct level.

If not, adjust.

Ride up and down road again. Are the lights right??

If not, adjust again.

It works for me.

If you can see and be seen, not get flashed by oncoming traffic, and pass an MOT test then why worry about wether or not the beam pattern was perfectly set ?

Are there any instructions in the owners handbook about beam adjustment ??

I know this is the erm 12 section but jeez, just point them where you want to see without dazzling folk on dip:blast

And for me, nice straight dark road. Adjust and re-adjust until they suit.

Tip, when you get home, turn them on in the garage and make some marks on the garage wall or door with a magic marker so you can reset them in future. ;)
