I'm mounting my Road Angel on to a circular RAM plate and then via a short RAM arm to my Migsel speedo mount.

As the device only weighs about 3oz I've decided that 'strong' Velcro is probably the easiest way.

I have some 'normal' Velcro circles, but can anyone tell me where I can buy ONE 'strong' Velcro circle approximately 1" in diameter? None of the local 'usual suspect' shops stock it. Indeed most places looked at me as if I was asking for moonrocks, as they'd never heard of the extra-strong Velcro.

I bought a strip of self-adhesive velcro at a hardware store. It's INCREDIBLY strong. Just cut out the bit you need and save the rest for later.

DUAL LOCK™ by 3M is that which you seek:-

you can get Dual lock or Dual lock with half the hooks if you want it a bit more removable.

I used Dual lock to hold the tank down on my GT750 - better than the steel bracket that broke.

Beware - its very 'kin strong

Contact a manufacturer of kneesliders, they buy it it sheets, kneesliders must weigh 3oz+?

Ah.

See, I tried B&Q, Halfords, Wickes, Do-it-all, the local craft place (that seems to have just about everything).

They all had regular self-adhesive Velcro, and some had sow-on Velcro.

None had the heavy-duty stuff.

I'm half sure that regular Velcro would do the job, but want to be extra sure. After all, a Road Angel costs ££££££s and I don't want it bouncing down the road because some Velcro has given way,

I'll also try to find soem sort of belt 'n braces approach to try to tie the device to the bike, but it's such an odd shape and 'slippery' that it's more than just warpping a cable tie tightly round the thing.

DD....PM me with yer address....or Bryn as he posted above.

It would appear he has some and I use it at work so I can dig you out a strip.

PS having said that, and having just experienced the loss of a GPs that was in an expensive Touratech mount and hearing from someone else who lost his MP3 from a h/d velcro fastening on the tankbag, I'd also strongly recommend a wire leash thingy as well.

Don't say I didn't warn you ;)

There is also 'mushroom' type stuff... that is stronger too.

And if you want more then mushroom stuff used on the loop velcro is stronger again .. but the loops will disintergrate after about 100 cycles!

... I too use it at work - they do a plastic 'T' hook too that is stronger than the old hook type .. used about 500 yards of 2 inch hook and loop velcro in 2 months about 3 years ago .. good fun. All glued onto foam... much against the foam manuifactures recomendations but I was replacing the older foam that had been up for 20 years ... I figure in another 20 years it won't be my problem :rolllaugh
