Getting maps onto Basecamp

I'm stuck with Basecamp as it's the best of a crock of sh*te on the Mac.

The only way I can show any detail on screen is to have my Zumo 550 plugged in and Basecamp imports the map data for the area I'm using.

Is there anyway I can import the map data permanently? I have the Garmin disks.

Don't know anything about 'Macs' can't you instal Mapsource on it?

Only if I buy a copy of Windows and some other software.

I have Basecamp and the maps installed fine on mine. Under Maps make sure you have City Navigator NT 2011.2 installed. If it is not working go under installed maps info and see if the status is unlocked. If it is locked that might be your problem. You don't need to buy Windows to get it to work. I agree not the best but if you think Basecamp is crap try Roadtrip. Failing that give the guys at Garmin a call. With long distance free I call the US as that is where the team is based. +1 913 397 8200. Hit zero and ask to be connected to Mac Support. For what Basecamp offers in functionality the tech support at Garmin is the best I have seen in a long time. They are able to tap into your computer and see if your setting are correct. Good luck.

Garmin don't make maps for Grumpy old Valedero riders !

I have got all maps on my Basecamp working fine its not that much worse than mapsource get stuck into it you silly old bugga.

If I have the Zumo connected it shows the Global Map and City Navigator as unlocked.
If I disconnect the Zumo only the Global map shows.

Mixture of garmin unlock codes swearing and clicking anything on screen that looks like a button!!
