Been after an alu top box for a while. Finally got one, but the locks are the holders (but unlocked). I don't have a key for them as I was going to recode them myself (done it before on my panneiers and the system cases I had before). I can't work out though how to get the bleeding locks out?
(had a quick search on the forum but they are all referring to system cases)

With the catch open, I can see a little slot on the back of the barrel, but there is nothing in the hole to push? (i.e the locking gate) I am probably being blind or daft (or both) but if there is something obviously that I am blatently missing then I would appreciate a nudge! :augie

Dont bother trying. It's impossible if you dont have the key to turn them 180 degrees to expose the last pin that retains them. Had the same problem with mine. Phone around some local locksmiths and find one that can open automotive locks. Guy opened and popped out my barrels in 5 minutes for a tenner. I then recoded them which was easy.

Kev,

I think you're right. Spent the last hour buggering about with bent screwdrivers, feeler gauges - even resorting to fabricating a small slider to try and poke the pin - Still no luck :(

I will get on the blower to see if I can find a locksmith.

(will also contact the previous owner to see if he still has a key....)
