I need to get the rear silver plastic assembly that the rear seat clips into off. It seems like I've got to take the top box plate assembly off and unto any manner of different sized bolts.

Has anyone got any tips/gotchas before I get the powered screwdriver out?

Removing the plastic!

I watched a mechanic do it (to drill out broken screws in a Givi topbox mount;) It was all done in a few seconds, too fast to follow! It is like all these plastic utensils - you MUST know where the locking bits are otherwise you will easily break something. Yes, I know that doesn't help you much except WAIT until somebody tells you how.

Thanks Brian ;)

I'm thinking there's like 3 bolts to undo, but it's like one of those intelligence tests that I'm completely woefull at...:o

False alarm

Have just looked at the workshop manual DVD (thanks to Andy) and as you say thee bolts take off the rack and then the carrier comes off easily too; Thre are spacing rubbers so watch out when they fall; I tried to copy the page for you but that will probably take longer than doing the job. No plastic catches it seems.

easy peesy...

^^ +1 on that, its a piece of P***. Take the bolts out and work form teh back to teh front one side at a time. Had to take mine off to fit rear light.
