How do you get to the neutral switch without removing the whole engine. It's nicely wedged between the bottom of the transmission casing and a frame cross-member. Removing the exhaust and other bits is not enough. Who has what plan?
I'm trying to post a pic, seems not a simple process of just attaching an image...

Remove the rear engine mounting stud.
Lever out the spacer tube.
That will give you sufficient access
Prop up the engine on a car jack ( or similar)
Once you have levered out the cross piece as Mikey says, pop it into the freezer while you do the neutral switch swap. …..and remember to fit a new crush washer ( make sure old washer doesn’t remain stuck to the bottom of your engine…. Don’t ask how I know this!)
Fit new switch, pop the wires on AFTER switch is installed…. Then recover cross piece tube from the freezer and refit. Sometimes they are a tight fit, so the cooling is the best way to get them back in place.
Refit engine mounting bolt, torque to correct figures, remove car jack ( or similar device)

Sit back and have a beer!
