I have a 2007 GS and have fitted the AF330 and BMW winglets but still can't get a set up where I have reduced wind noise or buffeting to my helmet to the levels that other people have managed to achieve. I am 6 foot tall. I believe my bike has been lowered and I am riding with the seat in the low position. I have a well padded behind, this may elevate me slightly higher than other 6 footers. I have tried the screen bolt upright, completely laid back and some places in between, screen high and medium. I have settled for completely laid back for now as I prefer the wind noise rather than the drumming on the top of my helmet that I was experienceing with it upright.

I'm 6'4" and have it raised at the bottom end (clock end) to about an inch from the top. Screen is then tilted forward to max so that the twisty knobs are at their highest. I don't have winglets (something I'm thinking about). Normal seat.......................and I don't get any buffeting. Still some wind noise and I would'nt say that I could ride all day with my visor open at 80mph, like some fortunates can.........but it's comfy, after all it is a bike.
I'll be interested to see what others say, as I tweaked this about for ages before I got to this stage. Tiniest tweaks make a big difference.
Good luck, it's the best screen.
Oh by the way, the top screen is about three quarters up.

I have one , had it for a while now, also have the winglets and torbinators. It's a motorcycle you will get wind noise:blast, perhaps your expecting too much.Since having this screen I get virtually no buffeting, much reduced wind noise and can raise the visor at high speeds with no probs at all. Obviously certain wind conditions that are always changing can give buffeting very occasionally but thats not the screen.I'm just over 6' on a std GS.

Do have it set with a fair gap between headlights and screen. But not laid back.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Am I missing another level of adjustment, other than fitting Torb's (I do have a set that were fitted to the standard screen when I bought it) ? I thought the only adjustment is the rake (angle) by means of the twist knobs and the height of the upper screen.

I have 2 other bikes, a Fireblade and a R1150RT (and had 3 other litre bikes in the last 5 years) and am used to wind blast and turbulance associated with each. I guess I was hoping to get something close to the near void I have with the RT (Fitted with an additional spoiler).

I must admit I had got to a position that I was happy with with my Shoei XR1000 helmet (Visor open above 70 no probs), but I just changed to an AGV and the turbulence/sound altered dramatically. Maybe I have been too impatient and made too drastic an adjustment and have gone from one problem to another....or maybe it's just the helmet. I can't believe that I can't get to a happy place with what I have, so will persist. I just thought it would help if I had some idea of what was working best for others and look for a common theme.

I am going on a European tour in a few weeks and was hopeful of the weather being nice enough for me to spend all day riding visor up, inner dark visor down.

After a brief couple of journeys on a F800GS yesterday while mine was being serviced, I appreciate what I have in terms of wind protection greatly !

Certain small changes do seem to make a huge difference with some people. So many variables .my lad has an 1150 Gs, has tried everything, 4 screens at all angles etc, doesn't get near my 1200 for comfort but then some people don't worry at all about it.

Good luck.................oh and don't forget use good earplugs! :blast

Fitted mine about month ago ---brilliant!-I am 6'1'' and have it raised just over half way and put right back towards me. Just did 200 miles to Cotswolds today, most of it with visor open !

I took mine off after about two weeks. I never did find a way to stop it making the turbulence around my head worse rather than better.

I find it is a different sort of noise to the sportsbikes, even with the AF330 you get "wind noise" but it is a lower pitched buffeting type of noise as opposed to the whooshing wind noise I got on spoerts bikes.

I do however find I can ride with my visor up easily, even with the screen only about half up (something I could not do on sportsbikes)

I can also ride without earplugs, whereas the wind roar on previous bikes was pretty intense by 50mph, I can happily ride the GS with ear plugs out (although use them except when going just a mile or two)

I gave up trying to get silence, the noise is always there and mildly annoying, but in reality not all that loud (I can also hear my music at 10-20mph more than I could on sportsbikes using same lid / autocom)

Unfortunately it also seems to be of a frequency that earplugs are not so good at removing (I think they work better the higher the pitch)

I am a big fan of the 330. I am 6ft tall and ride with the seat on high front low back. Screen is on the lowest setting i.e. laid back as far as it will go with the top screen raisd from its lowest setting by about 2". I fitted winglets and this made a big differnce....90mph visor up. One question...do you have a sat nav and if so where is it located?

I placed mine above the clocks on an aframe and it ruined the effectiveness of the screen....clearly affecting the aiflow under the screen causing awful turbulence.

Cheers

I have the bottom section as vertical as it will go and the top section in the middle of the adjustable range, haven't altered it since I fitted it as it works so well. I'm 6'2" and only have to lower my visor in the heaviest rain.

The AF330 screen is the second best thing I have put on my bike, I'm the best naturally :D

I tried and tried to sort mine out but couldn't stop the turbulence on the top of my helmet. Glad it works for some people. Each to their own I suppose.
