GIVI AF330 Screen

That's great, Shall order new AF straight away. Are there any changes to the wing nuts at the side of the screen, or did you just keep the existing ones?

Went for a farewell ride on my old GS today in some pretty high winds and even at speed no buffeting whatsoever, amazing screen, may not look too pretty, it's the best sceen I have ever sat behind and that includes current RTs:thumb2

Thanks Nick

Totally agree Nick, doesnt look the best but who cares..

No changes everything is included, if you want some more pics close up just let me know.

I simply removed the top bar and placed it in my GIVI box that the AF arrived in

Any feedback on the Givi A330 screen from a passengers point of view, the Mrs is'nt too keen on the windblast etc?

I've been pillion on a GSA with standard screen turbulence was slower than from the rider's seat but still annoying and enough for rider to feel the effect as it pushed pillions head about.
So although I've not been pillion on my own bike with AF-330, it can't be worse than the standard GSA.

I use mine with Winderlich Vario screen raisers about the same as Tobinators set 1/3 up. It's even better when leaned back.

Mine arrived from Italy today 30 mins after opening the box it was fitted to my '06 GS Tomorrow is set up day so will report back

Well the new screen was spot on It had a good test today so I can report no flies on my helmet and very little buffeting at legal speeds down the A1 ;) Having previously tried a GSA screen and winglets on a GS,a taller screen and an MRA I am pleased with the Givi which is also excellent value at the minute due to exchange rate :thumb

This screen malarkey is costly and it seems what is good for one bod is maybe not so good for another ! I too brought a AF330 with my visor open its perfect, whisper quite but close my visor and it's like I'm in a tunnel, my head seems to vibrate with buffeting. I then brought the full GSA screen kit, it's worse regardless what position the screen is in so i then brought a £40 puig screen spoiler off evilbay and fitted it to the gsa screen, positioned screen in the lowest setting and BINGO perfectttttttt

Phew that's a relief, nothing worse than..............................

Hi

Looking to buy a Givi airflow 330 screen and fit it to my 1200 GSA it's a 2008
There selling them at nippy Normans for around £130 with free postage have tried to contact them to ask if it fits the GSA but no response.
Can you post a pic of the bar that needs removing to get it to fit

Thanks a bunch

Rob

The AF-330 fits the GS and GSA but the latter will not be able to use its secondary screen brace.
IMO. the AF-330 is best with Tobinators so you can lean it back towards the rider. On the standard mounts its bit too upright and far away for my liking. But all that is no big deal - if you get too much suction effect on standard mounts you can add the Tobs at a later date.

I've got one, it's only been used for around 200 miles, not to my liking so I've gone the gsa route with deflector instead.

I'm average height and proportions and find the 330 is best set just below the highest at the screen back mounts with the front mounts on Wunderlich Varios which raise the screen by about 3/4". Most of the time I have the sliding part as low as it goes.

Ive also used the GSA screen (bike is GSA) and the Wunderlich taller version. Both caused head banging turbulence and magnified the traffic turbulence on motorways. The Touratech deflector helped but the sweet spot was narrow and I often had to look through it t get respite from the head banging. In cold weather visor misting was a nightmare.

Just been to france and belgium for a long weekend , but found my 330 did get Buffering only when following trucks or higher cars in traffic,(Dirty air) so adjusted it back and up abit and that helped loads,, so keep playing with your 330 to find your ideal screen position.
Got mine from spain 128 delivered..
Only bad point is ,in Hot weather you cook....:blast

I liked the looks of it, reminded me of the of the GS beak design,,?.

Hi Ding-Dong,

What didn't you like about it? And what height are you?

I'm 6'2'' and have fitted the Wunderlich deflector on the standard GSA screen and while that keeps the bugs and rain off my lid, there is an awful amount of windnoise and buffeting on the top of the lid. At Autoroute speeds the noise is terribly tiring. GS riders on a recent trip had Givi screens and raved about them. I do like the ability to lower them for increased cooling - something which is not easy with the Wunderlich jobby.

5'7" - standard height seat, couple of things I dislike, the screen seems a long way away from rider or gives that impression, I get the tunnel effect buffet off my lid and feels like it's shaking my head, I've tried everything even torbinators and at one point I thought I found the perfect position, but NO and regardless where I adjust the sliding part of the screen to it makes no difference apart from the best position is the lowest. What does seem strange if I ride with my visor up its absolutely perfect, or if I perch forward as close to the screen possible with visor closed it's perfect as well, with the visor up a fly at 80 in the eye ain't good. I've tried a mix of lids that I've got, all full face, shoei xspirit - schuberth flip - shoei neotec - arai rx7 and they all suffer the tunnel death head shake. Maybe a peak lid would slip stream !!

So I brought gsa screen kit, cut the bottom lug off the side fixing bobbins so I can get the screen on the lowest setting possible and brought the puig deflector off evilbay and visor up there's some noise, close visor and all is well.

I tried every option I could think of with OEM GSA and Winderlich taller GSA including Tobinators and the TT defector.
Turbulence was always a problem.
The AF-330 isn't perfect but it is a lot better than either of the other two.
For me the best position is 2nd notch from top on the main height adjuster with Wunderlich Varios on the front. A taller rider could use Tobinators and cut the lugs off the main adjusters.
I am 5ft 8ins normal proportions.
I suspect stiffening the AF-330 lower half could be an improvement but it's good enough go me to not bother.
