Good day lads,

Back on the protective windshield/screen consultations... as recommended on the previous thread I ended up buying the Givi Airflow screen and pretty happy with the purchase thus far, but I do have a few concerns.

I installed it back on Friday and went for an amazing ride during the weekend over the lovely Irish country roads where we put out about 10hs of riding 2 up. Wind-wise, it does an amazing job.... no buffeting whatsoever and on the top position my wifes rides very comfortable as well.

Now the only issue that I've seen thus far and I hope you guys have some recommendations on how to solve it is the reflection/glare that I see on the screen... basically I see a massive reflection of the instrument cluster like you would sometimes see the dashboard of the car on the windshield. With the screen on the top position, at some points I had to look over the side to be able to see the road, which is far from ideal. Granted it was a fully sunny day, which is not common on these parts of the world anyways :aidan but still, I wonder if you guys have experience with this and if you have been able to solve it somehow....

Not so much of an issue riding solo where the screen is at the lowest position and I can easily look over it instead of through it, and also haven't seen any reflections either...

Anyways, please let me know if you have experienced this and if you have any recommendations, I've tried different positions but there was little to no effect.

Cheers,
Rami

Sounds like you have it fairly upright. Adjust the screen to lay it tilted forward as far as possible. Also, you don't need it that high, try it a little lower - it will still help with the buffeting.

Tilted forward?

I have the lower screen quite vertical but the upper screen extended a third 2 up and fully down when solo, I would love to have the lower screen not as vertical but unless the upper screen is extended i cant get the airflow to clear my helmet.

I've tried to put it at an angle but didn't change much, had to lower it just to be able to see above it instead of through it... are you guys able to see through it just fine? No glare/reflection?

I'm thinking that it might have a protective coat of "something" getting it worse... I'll give it a good clean up and see if it makes any differences.

I have a cross tube on mine attached with P clips on the metal bracket top screws. The plan is to attach a sat nav bracket. Something similar might bock out the glare.

But saying that, at certain times of day I get a dazzling glare from the sun on the instruments glass. Not much anyone can do about that expect drive at night.

I look over the top of it with the top of the screen just below my eye line- unless I am at slow speed where I would look through it.

Same here, I had the 330 set at the lowest and looked over the screen. Not much help I know. Have you got winglets on it? That might allow you to have the screen lower, and still give your bride some protection. Failing that, the sun will not be out for long...:beerjug:

LOL... I know the sun won't be much of a factor for the coming months, but anyways... was trying to figure out if it was a setup issue on my side or a little bit of design problem, which seems to be the fault here.

Happy with the screen otherwise, I'll just have to keep it below my eye level and have the wifey to deal with it at higher speeds :P

Cheers lads!

Well... I spoke with the lads that sold me the screen "Motorcycle Planet" and they advised that the issue that I'm having is common and it's due to the material that Givi uses for the screens.

So, bottom line is.... you either like it or not. Have the option to return it if I wish to do so, but I think I'll try to get use to it and try to find the sweet spot where it's the least annoying to me and yet keep the wife protected from the elements.

Any ways... just FYI for future references or possible buyers of the AF 330.

And funny enough, if you google AF 330 the first picture on the results it shows the reflection I'm talking about:

Must be my height deficit that makes me sit lower in the bike (?)

As I said, I'm grand with the screen in the low position which is where I'll be most of the time. But riding two up, it's not the most comfortable thing.

I wonder if it'll be a bit better with some Rainex or similar product, but not a big deal for now.

You could try raising the front mounts and using lowest back setting. I've used Wunderlich Varios but there are also Tobinators. If you want to test it you could bodge with gaffa tape and see if the difference is to your taste.

Thanks bud, I'll look into that!

I 've had mine for few years now, my black clamps, i marked two marks on the screen with black pen so that i know the best postion for me and then drop the screen down 10mm when i carry a pillion, looking at your photo your screen is very high, the top of my screen grooves are just above your Sat nav bag. i'm 5foot 10inches with a low seat

Well, that's not my picture.. I just took one of the first results from Google and I thought it was funny that it kind of has the same reflection. In the position I have it now for solo riding, I'm fine... I look over the screen. Riding two up, putting the screen higher I'm not able to look above it and then I get the reflection... tried different positions and everything but no results.

Cheers
