Givi convertable helmet- X.01.....seen it?

Many thanks for the review, Fanum. That's convinced me that the advertised benefits are real. DKOnline do the best price, but I think that's where you got yours from, looking at previous posts, so suppose I'd better avoid them.

Thanks again for responding :thumb2

The problem was delivery time......they fecked it up several times and I ended up waiting two months in the end....In fact when it arrived it came with two left hand summer vents bits and no right hand one.....after several months of chasing I gave up on them TBH.

You can call Givi direct though........they're on the IE just off the M1 south of Leicester where the jet is on the roundabout IIRC.

Apparently, DK Motorcycles no longer stock the helmet. I gave them a call to see if they still had them in stock so that I could do a price match.

I called Hein Gericke, Peterborough to see if they could get them. I was advised that they had been asked this question recently and found out that only two dealers in London have them in stock. They also advised giving Givi a call and said although you can't buy direct from them, you can try one there.

Talk about making it bloody difficult! Anyone would think they didn't want to sell any :nenau

I've sent an email to Givi and I'll see what they say.

Thanks again for your help. :thumb2

No worries......it's maddening isn't it!
FWIW They didn't keep it in stock when I ordered mine- I had to agree that I couldn't send it back if it was just the wrong size and they finally ordered it drekkly from Givi for me.

I suspect that you'll be able to do the same with any dealer who as an account with Givi (and that's most, because of the luggage range) though again, if they don't stock it, they will probably only agree to order it on a no-return basis .

It is a risk, but it worked for me......as above, I'd get another one immediately if I lost this one, I'm well impressed with it :thumb2

Hmmm......I wonder if Givi will open me up a trade account :augie

PS I'm in Harwich if you're ever passing, you're welcome to have a fondle of my helmet :D

what's it like for comfort compared to say a shoei... is it softish or more hard like a Roof?

also how much did you say it was?

Softer than the Roof, firmer than a Shoei or Schuberth.

I paid £196 delivered IIRC.....a while ago though (last Sept)

It's got a cam type strap connector that initially I wasn't to keen on but it's a piece of piss to use and seems strong enough, and I guess it will have had to pass various standards :nenau

I'm not sure that it's the perfect do-it-all lid, but I'd like to try one. It could do with a detachable peak but I suppose you could fit a Super-Visor.....

anybody fitted/used one of these super-visors :nenau

Mrs Og has the completely open version.
bought on the basis - given the battering our panniers have survived - it's got to be good for her head! :D
loves it.
light weight, airy, well made and (i'm amazed at this bit) keeps the rain out. :thumb2

I forgot to mention.....the Givi already has a pretty easy to use (in comparison with the Schuberth which I find fiddly) slidey down sun shield thing........it does the job pretty well :thumb2
