Hi all,

Has anyone fitted a givi pannier rack and top box mounting plate for the f650 gs ?
Ive got a givi e 45 top box and e 35 panniers and wish to fit these rather then use the bmw luggage option.

Looking at the size of the panniers against the size of the rear end of the bike and no cut out on the pannier for the exhaust, will the back of the bike be out of proportion ?

Would fitting a pannier mounting be a difficult job as i do not have any skills with tools,

thanks in advance for any tips/advice.

Dave.

I had a Givi top box mounted to my 650GS twin for awhile and it was no problems. As for the panniers I can't say for certain but I am sure I have seen the GS twins with them on.

Fitting wise I'm sure you will be fine, I've fitted pannier frames to most of the bikes I have had no problems.

If you can't use Givi racks to mount you luggage try SW motech for adapter plates. Its what I had to do to get the Top box I had on my Kawasaki to fit and it worked fine!

Hi, i've fitted the Givi mounting plate and have the V46 attached all the time. I think it looks OK. I've been thinking of getting the racks to go on but havn't got round yet !!!!

Thanks for the info chaps,

My 1200 gsa has now departed the household and i look forward to welcoming the new baby, f650gs se hopefully arriving this monday.

The gsa 12 has been a fantastic machine to own but one 4 day tour a year and an 8 mile round daily commute didnt do the bike justice, fingers crossed the next owner can exploit the bikes full credentials, so farewell my faithful friend.:bow

I've got a f800 gs fitted with the givi rack and side carriers, the top box is 48L and the panniers are both 40L.
The left pannier is offset to allow for the exhaust but doesn't seem to affect the ride in any way

The Givi rack is really ugly, the sw-motech is more expensive but is quickly removed/fitted and can be used with varied makes of pannier just by buying the correct plate.

They also do the top plate with the option of a number of adaptors, I have a Givi adaptor for topbox and a flat plate for carrying tents etc.

Or better still buy the BMW panniers they look neat, the frames are unobtrusive, and the left pannier fits around the exhaust nicely.

Don't bother with the BMW topbox though.

:thumb2 for the sw-motech,I have just removed my Alpos cases and fitted a pair of Peli Storm cases to them.Very adaptable for different styles of luggage.
