I have the above box on my 2013 lc fitted with the proper aluminium givi rack but feel it isn't very secure, has anyone else had this issue or how have they resolved it or am I just too insecure??? Thanks a friend has the same box on a 1200gsa with a much larger pannier frame and it seems a lot mot stable and secure.

wrong bungs in the base
The ones for the alloy plate are much flatter and more plyable.....the ones for the plastic base are longer and much more solid ( I think they fit in a recess }

These are the correct ones for the metal plate.............you would have trouble seating your box on the metal plate using the other bungs.
Get a set of these new rubbers and go to B&Q etc etc and get some self adhesive rubber pads used for the legs of furniture. stick the appropriate size pad to where the rubber bung makes contact with the base of the box.............et voila....a lovely snug fitting box for a year or two.

I think there is a secondary subframe piece which bolts to the underside of the bike's rack to stiffen the whole assembly.
I have the aluminum rack and a 48l kappa topbox (similar to the givi 58l), and it came with the bigger rubbers, I used it initialy with the original rubbers and it worked fine, after a couple of years they flatened a bit and I started hearing some rattle when riding on rough terrain, tryed the bigger rubbers but they were too big and couldn´t lock the box on the rack with them.
Finally ended up using the bigger ones at the front and the original at the back (near the lock) with a couple of o-rings and everything is fine again

That looks the biz! I have all the proper bungs in and have checked and double checked was on as pillion the other day and it did not feel solid enough, but then I'm no wee guy! Will enquire about the sw ynotech piece, thanks

Yes it’s for a Lc, got mine from www. Swmotechshop.co.uk, they list it on there website.

Got one of these available if you are interested. Bought off ebay...the seller had described it as a givi rack but it turned out to be this subframe bit.

Will it fit under the givi rack?
Yes i have fitted the longer fatter Givi bungs that came with the top box. But the actually frame feels a lot more plyable. I think if the sw motech frame fits under the bmw frame with the aluminium givi palte on top it would be best solution. Has anyone tried this?
Not sure how it fits Tbh. Seem to remember the instructions referee to it as an optional extra. The hole pattern matches the four holes on the rack-- I assumed it fitted under the bike's rack to provide rigidity from below while leaving the top rack clear for the topbox.
Will dig it out and get some pics and measurements tomorrow if interested.
