Has anyone fitted a Givi outback Trekker 58 to a GSA with BMW aluminium panniers. If so can you hinge open the panniers or do to have to remove the lid completely to get in? Can you remove pannier sized bags with the panniers and box still fitted or do you have to remove the panniers? Do you have some photos showing it fitted with the panniers on the bike.

I think you will struggle to open them panniers if they are BMW ones :nenau. 42l variant of givi box is a better choice in my opinion and you wouldn't look like you are delivering pizza on gsa. :D

I know but i'm looking for something I can fit 2 full face helmets in, I hate walking round the things

I have a Givi trekkers 58l box on my 15GSA. I use it for my daily ride and only use my BMW side panniers for long trip.No problem opening BMW side panniers. You just need to tilt a bit out when opening the pannier lids.

Aye I did the same no problems at all

I've got the same on my GSA LC as the two above said no problems.

I was thinking to fit a 42l top box to my 13 te , but am unsure as to whether you need a rack plate, I have read somewhere the new ones don't require a fitting plate is this correct.
Cheers Dean🤔

If you are interested, I have a complete set up I am willing to part with including mounting plate, black BMW rack converter from TE speck to Standard speck, I also have a complete set of pannier rails and panniers LHS 48l and RHS 37l unused with original boxes.

I had these fitted to my GS LC TE and was planing to go away with them but then sold the bike.

Pm me for a price.

Thanks for the offer of your set up up but I have panniers would like to fit a top box for a trip to Germany this summer.
Dean.

I can sell you top box if you want including mounting plate and a BMW adapter. The box would work for me but I can always get a new one.

I have BMW panniers and the 58Ltr Top box.

No you cannot hinge the pannier lids up to gain full access. You must remove the lids, as the panniers lids hit the underside of the 58ltr box. Panniers lids have to be placed on the seat to gain full access....... Not a problem IMHO, as the 58ltr box advantages out way the pannier lid access problem.
Yes you can remove pannier liners without taking off the panniers or topbox.

Thanks for the advice, think I'll have a look at the at the black 42L Trekker as well may be better for me as the 58L does look a massive even on a GSA.

Late to thread, sorry - are those the BMW standard panniers with the givi top box? I need the space to leave helmet and jacket and not so keen on panniers except for longer trips. The 58L givi box looks like it's got plenty of space but clearly mixed opinions on looks - surely a GSA is about the only bike that can get away with it?

Dolomiti 46ltr

I've just fitted a Givi Dolomiti top box as didnt want to go too large.

I would dearly love to get rid of a top box altogether. But where would I put all the shit I carry in it? It's the main cause of dodgy handling. A bloody great pendulum, sitting up high and behind the bike. Horrid, nasty things.

Hi, if anyone's interested I want to downsize from the 58L to 42L. If someone fancies a straight swap - Givi Trekker Outback silver please pm me. Wife no longer wants to ride pillion so don't need the massive topbox.
