Givi pannier frames, heat shield??

Two questions.
After this is fitted & I have the panniers on, do I have to fit an exhaust extender to stop the panniers melting? I know this will be obvious after the event, but I want to know now, so that I can warn the fabrication shop at work that I want a rabbit.

Rabbit, something that quickly hides in a hole. Geddit? private job, manager appears, job hides in nearest hole.

Are there any horrors involved in fitting this kit?

The Biggest problem you are gonnie have is a secure attachment , the actual exhaust end doesent have to be perfect
all you are tryin to do is take the heat away.
