Givi S310 Trekker spot lamps

Guys,

Wondering if anyone has any pics of these fitted to a hexhead GSA? Previous threads back in 2013 do more to promote other lights instead. The question I would like answered is do they fit on the main upper crash bar or on the light bar for the O/E fog lamps, that is to say above the fog lamps?

Not sure what model year this is, but any good? Google picture. I have them on my GS LC and they are great lights.

It looks like a 2008-2009 Adventure with the OEM light bar removed. I personally think hanging the lights under the bar gives the best proportioned light triangle so the bike stands out in traffic.

Thanks for that vRSG60, well found. I agree with Bendy Toy, it looks like the O/E auxiliary light bar has been removed. Looking at the diameter of the clamp I'm guessing they need to be fitted to the main bar as the clamp may be too big for the auxiliary light bar. I'm led to believe these are spot lights to supplement the main beam which is what I'm after, so I'm looking to leave the O/E fog lights (for road presence) in place and mount these above linked to main beam.

I have a pair of these, they were fitted to my GS when I bought it, they seem a good bright light, they have been fitted on the lower crash guards which I feel is too low to give the best spread of light. They also need a bit of packing under the clamp to give a secure fit on my bars, I will be looking to fabricate a suitable stainless light bar to move them higher over the winter, but not sure I would link them to the main beam, maybe HID instead, depends how often you ride at night I suppose.

You do get a plastic insert with them that enables them to be fitted to 2 different diameter bars.
They aren't a spot light, they are a fog light.
The light pattern is very flat. If shone on a wall from about 6 foot away the light pattern is about 6 - 8 inches high and about 18 - 20 inch across with a 6 inch square tee bit at the bottom.

Givi market them as spot lamps but the beam pattern suggested by vRSG60 hints they are in fact fog lamps, which is what the O/E lamps are for, so back to the drawing board...

I wanted long range spot but struggled to find any. Eventually I found some from HongKong 30watt LED they said = to 125W halogen. At about £25 a pair I took a chance.

They arrived and are really well made. They are MUCH to bright as daylights and totally wasted as dipped beam because the beam is so narrow. However aligned with main beam they are stunningly good. I have them wired to one of the OEM fog light fuses and relayed to work with main beam. In light fog they can be too good so Ive retained the OEM switch.

Proper fogs with a wide flat beam would need to be lower down on the bike. But with HID in dip beam any more foreground light would be too much - glare is a real issue. If bright fogs are used as daylights they'll need to be switched off on dark roads to avoid glare.

I have the older version of these. Cheap enough to take the risk. So far, they've done one full winter with no ill effects. The LED halo rings solve the daylights issue.
